Start up Portugal

Following the boost of the annual Web summit conference (previously held in Dublin) Lisbon’s start up community is flourishing and now the Government has launched new backing towards the national strategy for Entrepreneurship, Start up Portugal, which aims to attract foreign investors. Thanks to 20 new measures to boost the initial strategy it was designed to step up the growth of Portuguese startups in foreign markets and support the national eco-system.

Lisbon is now 4th in a global list of the best, places to start a new business (according to Startup City Index), which puts Portugal’s capital way ahead of rivals including San Francisco and London.

With an annual inflation rate of just 1 percent, Lisbon is also a significantly cheaper place to live. The cost of living in Lisbon is half what it would be in London, a fifth lower than Berlin and 60 percent cheaper than New York, San Francisco and Zurich.

In comparison to other property markets, Portugal is still highly competitive, with an office in Lisbon costing on average €222 per square meter, per year. Looking at other markets, Berlin costs €360 per square meter, per year, it's €669 in Stockholm, €732 in Zurich or €1,223 in London's West End!

Lisbon is the perfect place for a buy to let investment and we can help. We can help with the buying process and long term rental solutions including management. Drop us a line and find out more.
